Our Team

Jennifer Tutty

With nearly 15 years’ experience in her field, Jennifer practises across a wide spectrum of intellectual property, media, entertainment, technology and commercial law matters.

Jennifer’s services are highly sought after by a range of successful media personalities, creative agencies, artists, music festivals, hospitality entrepreneurs and other creative businesses. As a business owner herself, Jennifer is able to combine her commercial experience and comprehensive legal knowledge to deliver practical legal advice and strategic results for her clients.

Having trained as a classical pianist and indulged in an illustrious DJ career, Jennifer brings significant industry knowledge to her practice and is often engaged to speak at conferences and universities to share her experiences. A mentor to young lawyers, she encourages graduates to develop and pursue unique careers in law.

Jennifer was recognised by Doyles Guide as a Leading Victorian Copyright & Soft IP Lawyer for 2017.

Tony Grujovski
Senior Associate

Tony is an experienced solicitor and registered trade marks attorney with an extensive background practising in intellectual property law matters, specialising in IP disputes and litigation. Tony also has broader legal expertise across entertainment law, employment law and general commercial law matters, utilising his sharp contract drafting skills and commercially-minded approach.

Tony lives and breathes trade marks – he currently manages our clients’ trade mark portfolios, drawing on his specialist IP knowledge to ensure that these valuable assets are adequately protected both in Australia and internationally. He has a track record of protecting and enforcing the IP rights of a range of creative businesses such as fashion houses, food/beverage manufacturers and photographers.

Tony has a keen interest in assisting creatively driven clients with their legal issues, drawing from his passion for music (although he does not profess to be as musically talented as the rest of the Studio Legal team!) and anything tech related.

Omid Komeili

Omid is a solicitor practising in the areas of intellectual property, consumer and commercial law.

He is particularly focussed on assisting clients to meet their commercial objectives and has worked with a variety of small-to-medium businesses, including some of Australia’s most exciting cosmetics brands and fashion labels. Omid particularly enjoys assisting start-up and FMCG clients with protecting their IP assets, drafting and negotiating their key commercial contracts and advising on various consumer law and regulatory issues that apply to their businesses.

Having graduated from King’s College London with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons), Omid moved to Australia in 2012 and now calls Melbourne home.

Omid has a passion for soccer (although he insists on calling it “football”) and, like the rest of the Studio Legal team, an obsession with music (particularly the ‘Boss’).

Bree Coker
Office Manager/Legal Assistant

Bree wears many hats across Admin, Accounts and Marketing to ensure the Studio Legal office runs like a well-oiled machine!  Bree’s legal career began several years ago and saw her working across a variety of practice areas including family law, intellectual property and trade marks.

Bree holds a Bachelor of Entertainment (Business Management) and enjoys combining her passion for creative industries with her legal background. Bree has previously spent time working for both a major record label and a film distributor, before returning to law.

Bree trained in both classical and contemporary singing for many years, whilst her love of dance music sees her dabble with DJ-ing in her spare time (although she’s not quite ready for a club residency just yet!)

Sean Mullins
Senior Solicitor

Sean is a Studio Legal veteran, having been with the firm since we opened our doors.  After taking extended leave to focus on his musical endeavours; writing, recording and playing in his band, Tiny Little Houses, Sean is now back on board on a part-time basis.

Sean is experienced in intellectual property matters and entertainment law, and enjoys working with artists, creatives and other music industry professionals.  He especially enjoys immersing himself in all types of music contracts and can assist with artist management agreements, recording agreements, publishing agreements and contract negotiations.

Outside the office, Sean also teaches entertainment law and music industry ethics at various institutions including Australian Institute of Music, Victoria University and Box Hill Institute and trains Triple R and 3CR Radio presenters in media law.

Julian Davis

Julian has a wealth of legal and business experience working with some big names in the music industry such as Big Day Out, Apollo Bay Music Festival, Shock Records, Abbey Road Studios and Studios 301.

Practising as a solicitor at Studio Legal, Julian enjoys building and working with clients in the music, entertainment, creative and tech start-up space. Drawing on his own commercial experience, Julian is able to offer his clients not only practical advice but industry tips on how to structure and negotiate effective deals.

As well as practising law, Julian is the owner and operator of recording studio (Milk Bar Studios), live sound engineering business (Julian Davis Productions) and ticketing tech start-up Cutiso. He also lectures at Swinburne University and Abbey Road Studios and is a professional, classically trained drummer.

But despite his impressive resume, Julian’s biggest achievement is by far, being a dad to Charlie and Pippa.

Our Network

As we are a boutique firm with a niche set of legal skills, we regularly engage consultant lawyers and barristers to work on special projects.  This trusted network of colleagues allows us to offer our clients a wider range of legal services when required.

If you would like Studio Legal to assist you with a project please speak to us about the scope your work.

We are also friends with great accountants and book-keepers who specialise in the creative industries.  If you need help with your finances, we would be happy to introduce you!
