Get to know…Jen!

As Founder and Principal, Jen started Studio Legal 10 years ago. With nearly 20 years’ legal experience, as well as being a business owner and creative herself, Jen understands the legal, commercial and creative pressures faced by her clients. As a result, she is able to effortlessly solve a myriad of legal problems strategically, effectively and with an empathetic touch.

When she’s not in the office, you will find Jen walking on the beach, doing yoga, drinking wine, or hanging out with her family and close friends. You may also find Jen behind the decks (in a rare set) if you are really lucky!

In this week’s Team Love Q&A, we ask Jen about what she’d be doing if she wasn’t a solicitor, her perfect night out and what she’s loving right now.

If you didn’t work in the legal industry, what would you be doing?

I love being creative, colour, beautiful things, shopping, styling things and running a business. I often think of what life would have been like as an interior designer with my own business rather than as a lawyer with my own business.  So, I am going to say this!

What is your perfect night out?

Going out in my favourite black leather pants, high heels and red lippy to a special restaurant with a group of my best girlfriends, followed by lots of ‘deep and meaningfuls’, cocktails and some good house music back at someone’s house.

What is one thing you are obsessed with right now?

Gin martinis. My love of gin started a little late in life, around 2 years ago. I started with 5pm G&Ts during WFH/lockdowns and have now moved onto the strong stuff. My favourite gin is Four Pillars Olive Leaf Gin currently.

It’s 1999 again and the world is about to end, how do you spend your day?

I would be down the beach. I would get up early, get takeaway coffee, head down to the beach to watch the sunrise and go for a big walk followed by a yin yoga class. Hang out on the beach all day swimming, sunbathing, reading and surfing with my kids and husband. Come home for a shower and cocktails on the deck to watch the sunset. Then have my besties over, cook dinner, turn up the music and dance the night away.

What is your secret talent?

Making mundane tasks seem fun. “Hey team, how about we pack and clean our old office over some wines with some tunes – will be so fun?!”
